Established in March 1950, the Beidaihe Guesthouse for Diplomatic Missions has a history of nearly 60 years. The Guesthouse was registered in 1998 and now possesses fix assets totaling RMB 8.6 million with 83 staff members. In the early years, the Guesthouse mainly carried out political tasks of receiving diplomatic envoys to China, diplomats and correspondents working with foreign news agencies. The Guesthouse is situated in Zhonghaitan (the Middle Beach), the most stunning scenic spot in Beidaihe. In addition to Western barbeques, the two gardens have launched a variety of appetizing snack food, becoming a unique scene of fine food and recreation at Beidaihe.
